Dr. Otto F. Boele is an Associate Professor of Russian literature. Since his appointment in 2005 he has taught courses on Russian romanticism, the 19th-century novel, the Thaw, the Russian historical film and the history of Russian cinema. He has published several books, as well as scholarly articles in Russian Literature, The New Literary Observer (Novoe literaturnoe obozrenie) and The Soviet and the Post-Soviet Review. He is also a regular contributor to Kinokultura.com.
Outside Academe dr. Boele has worked as a project manager for IDC/ Brill publishers and a translator. As an advisor on Russian literature he has been active for the Dutch Foundation for Literature (Fonds van de Letteren) and a number of Dutch publishing houses.
